PERU, Lima, gold cob 8 escudos, 1728 N, NGC AU 55. S-L29; Cal-2141; KM-38.2; Fr-7. 26.75 grams. Very bold full pillars with both dates fully visible on that side (rare, hence the inward shift of the legend date due to doubling). Cross-lions-castles design also full, though slightly off-center. Light toning in crevices. Currently tied with one other for second finest in the NGC census, with only five pieces recorded in total.
